Who we are
This website is run by Lunar Design Solutions Ltd, trading as Lunar Design, a company registered in Scotland (company number SC903290), registered office 80 Fereneze Crescent, Hamilton, ML3 9TN. We are the controller of the personal data described in this notice.
Contact us about your data at [email protected].
What we collect
- Enquiries. When you use our enquiry form we collect your name, email address, mobile number (if you give it), the services you are interested in, your budget and your project brief.
- Clients. If you become a client we also hold your business contact details, billing and payment details, the content you send us for your project, and our emails with you.
- Free website check. When you run our free check at check.lunar-ds.com, we read only what the website you name shows every visitor. Nothing is kept unless you ask for the full report. If you do, we keep your name, email address, phone number and note (if you give them), the website address and the check's results, so we can send you the report and follow up about it. To stop the check being misused we also keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, never the address itself, to limit how many checks can be run each day.
- Client care pages. Clients on a Lunar Care plan can ask for changes through a private page. We keep what you send us there and a record of the work done.
- Technical data. Like every website, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the site running and secure.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies on this website.

Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted suppliers who process data for us under contract:
- Cloudflare: website hosting, security, and delivering enquiry form submissions by email
- Google: our studio email inboxes (Gmail), the web fonts on this page, and PageSpeed Insights, which measures the speed of websites put through our free check (it is given the website address only)
- Tide and GoCardless: banking and Direct Debit payments, for clients only
- Our accountant, and HMRC where the law requires it
Some of these suppliers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use safeguards approved under UK law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries, including full-report requests from the free website check, that do not lead to work: deleted within 12 months
- The scrambled IP address used to limit free checks: deleted within 2 days
- Client and financial records: 6 years after the end of our contract, as required for tax
- Hosting logs: kept by Cloudflare for a short period only
Websites we build for clients
When we build or host a website for a client, the client is the controller of any data collected through their site, and we act as their processor under our client agreement. Please contact that business directly about their privacy notice.
